It is still unknown if Toecutter is actually Immortan Joe, or just a similar character. Miller has previously stated that Toecutter was originally going to be played by Mel Gibson, but scheduling conflicts led to him being replaced by Peter Ustinov. Some believe it was used as a prop, while others believe the dog may have actually been cast in the movie. But no one can be sure for sure what the dog was actually used for in the movie. Some say it’s a Tibetan Mastiff, while others believe it’s a Rottweiler mix. One of the bullets pierces through Max’s gas tank, causing his car to explode. The Raiders catch up to Max and shoot at him with their guns. Unfortunately, the Raider is too big and heavy for the small vehicle to push over. Max drives into a ditch, hoping the Raider will pass over it. One of them notices Max and starts to chase him. Max is driving through the Wasteland, when he comes across a group of raiders. However, this question still remains a mystery to many fans and filmmakers alike.
